Apple Cake

 

Ingredients:

1 cup flour

1 apple sliced

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (divided use)

1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 egg

1/4 cup + 2 tbsp granulated sugar 

1/4 tsp vanilla 

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup milk


Method:

1) toss the sliced apple in the lemon juice and 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon. Set aside.

2) combine all your wet ingredients vigorously until no lumps remain.

3) combine all your dry ingredients in a separate bowl. 

4) combine your dry ingredients with the wet ingredients. Be gentle while doing this as you don’t want to inhibit gluten development. 

5) pour the batter is 7 inch round pan and put the apple topping on top of the batter. Get creative with the apples!

6) bake at 180 degree Celsius for about 40-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

7) let in cool down completely and enjoy!
